Denmoza is a genus of cactus discovered to be prevalent throughout the mountains of Argentina. Its specific name originates from old Greek and suggests “red spinal column” for the color of its clusters of spinal columns.
Denmoza plants are globular cacti, round-shaped when they are young, then cylindrical as the plant grows. Its natural habitat is monte slopes and foothills with gravel soils.This species is found at elevations ranging from 800 to 2800 meters above sea level.
Denmoza’s flowers are zygomorphous (bilaterally symmetrical), of a maximum length of 7.5 cm, reddish to bright scarlet in color, and have white hair on the tube. They must be grown to a reasonable size before they can produce flowers.The color of the trunk ranges from pale green to dark green, dotted with 15 to 30 ribs.
Demnoza is a robust, slow-growing cactus that has no particular growing issues. Due to their long spinal columns and column shape, it is a great prospect to create an amplified cactus.

1. Denmoza Ducis-Pauli
Denmoza Dulcis-Pauli is a type of cactus in the genus Denmoza. The name Denmoza appears to be an anagram of Mendoza, the main city of western Argentina, the location from which it comes.
Denmoza plants are globular cacti, round-shaped when they are young, then cylindrical as the plant grows. They come from the rocky slopes of Argentina, with elevations of 2,000–2,500 meters, and have a great capability to adapt to our climates.
Adult Denmoza dulcis-Pauli stems are divided into parallel and well-separated ribs about 1 cm wide. In some cases, they are slightly wavy. It can have a size of 15 to 30 cm and a green color in various tones.
2. Denmoza Erythrocephala
Denmoza Erythrocephala is widespread throughout the mountains of Argentina, where it takes place in Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja, Tucumán, Catamarca and Salta. It flourishes in elevation variety of elevations in between 800 and 2800 metres above water level. Natural environment: Eastern slopes and foothills on monte habitat, in gravel soils
Denmoza Erythrocephala grow gradually and remain globulous during a long period before becoming quickly column-shaped, 0.5 to 1.5 cm high. The plant’s diameter varies from 15 to 30 cm, the stem colour varies from pale green to dark green, with 15 to 30 ribs. They need to reach an affordable size in cultivation prior to producing their flowers.

3. Denmoza Rhodacantha
Denmoza Rhodacantha is a type in the genus Denmoza, which includes between 2 and 4 species and belongs to the family Cactaceae (Cactus Family). It usually forms columns and does not branch in the environment. It was originally discovered in the Mendoza region of Argentina; Denmoza is an anagram for Mendoza.
The flowers are red and open throughout the day, as might be expected for a hummingbird-pollinated cactus. The flowers are tubular, however, with a minor curve. The barrels can grow over 1 meter high and may be roundish or columnar.
Denmoza Rhodacantha blooms solitary, strong, red-orange tubular flowers during the months of June to August. The floral tube is generally curved and slightly dilated above the pericarpel, which bears small, appressed scales. The perennials reach heights of 15 to 30 centimeters.
4. Denmoza Strausii
Cleistocactus Strausii (Silver Torch), native to Bolivia and Argentina, forms slender, upright, silver columns, 3 in. (8 cm) broad, densely covered with short white spines. Each columnar stem features 25 narrow ribs with about 30 longer, white spines and four thicker, pale yellow spinal columns.
The primary stem often branches at the base, with upright-growing stems connected to the mother plant. The Silver Torch blooms in the spring and summer with narrow, tubular, deep magenta flowers. It does not like extreme heat and is cold-hardy to 14 °F (-10 °C).
